Braided Area Rugs

These rugs have been an eternal part of the time-honored tradition of the process of rug-making. This particular process is considered to be a great craft of creating family heirlooms which are functional and beautiful at the same time. The wool which is utilized in the rugs could be of any color, creating unique patterns, styles and designs which are guaranteed to suit any individual preference and taste.

Skilled craftsmen who make braided area rugs take great pride in the workmanship that they have in their pieces. The hand lacing is basically cloaked within the braids and so the thread would not be anywhere near visible and would also not be subjected to wear and tear. This kind of skilled construction is able to give assurance to the user that the rugs would be durable and sturdy enough to last for a long time. Additionally, they are reversible, very easy to maintain and are almost guaranteed to never come apart. Braided wool rugs are available in many kinds of colors, designs, sizes and shapes to fit any taste, preference and style.

The whole process of creating a braided area rug is generally a difficult and tedious one as it involves many processes. The first one would be the process of dyeing the finest wool blend yarns with the use of vibrant colors and hues. The rugs which are produced have at least 80% wool. These rugs have been created with the use of what is called ‘Double Braid’ system, resulting in the creation of the most durable rugs possible. The wool yarn would be braided into strips that are an inch wide. With the use of three of these strips, they would be braided together to create different patterns. As a final step in the process, they would be sewn together using a short, taut stitch with the use of a strong and color-coordinated thread. Every rug which is produced would then carry the family tradition of handcrafted excellence and quality.

You must keep in mind that these rugs should be periodically cleaned with the use of the power spray extraction method. This is a method that would be able to virtually remove all the moisture which would reduce the saturation of the rug. You could also moderately apply hot tap water and mild liquid solutions on the braided rug since high temperature solutions are able to adversely affect the durability of the wool. Also, steam cleaning a rug made of wool would not be advisable. Once the rug has been cleaned, it could be dried by simply laying it on the floor.
