Braided Rugs
Even though braided rugs may not be as prestigious and elegant as Oriental rugs, they
possess a kind of beauty which is unique and at the same time, functional.
One of my favorite memories as a child was sitting on my grandmother's rug (braided of course) and driving toy cars up and down the braids as
if they were roads. I've loved them ever since.
With all the kinds of rugs that are available in the market, the braided style is one of the more popular, along with standard area and
Oriental. They are basically created with the use of several small strips of cloth which are braided together so that an ellipse or a circle
could be formed. The loose ends are then sewn so that the rug would be stronger. There are some that have the addition of several useful
features.
Just like the other rugs that you can buy in the market, braided ones come in all kinds of designs and colors. Probably the most common
would be the Chandler 4 Corners. They could also be used in complementing other kinds of rugs that you already have in your home. They can
go extremely well with any kind of carpet and could also be hung on walls as attractive decorations and accents.
As you shop for a braided rug, it would be important to not only choose the best color and shape that would work for you or for the area you
would be using it for, but also to check the finish and the texture. Inspect the sides and the edges and make a decision whether you would have
to add another cotton padding or some other material to the standard product. This would ensure that your rug would be much more durable and
stronger and therefore would have a longer life.
If you are looking into doing some interior redecorating, then making use of this type of rug would be a fantastic idea as they can help you
achieve a beautiful and elegant look without having to spend a lot. They also offer the convenience of being able to do some mixing and matching
of various styles. You could make use of a large piece combined with several small ones. You could also get a mixed rug or probably a
multi-layered one that reflects many colors. You could also get rectilinear rugs to use for your guest room or your dining room.
To be able to choose the best one for you and your home, it would be best to try and match it with your existing home or room décor. If you
want to be on the more conservative side, you could choose one that has a classic style and design and if you want to liven up a room
or area, the you could go for the unique and bright ones.
